Electric Heater

California Pulse Waterborne Paint Drying System with Heat

Spray Booth Electric Heater System LayoutSystem Description

The electric heater is an option for our waterborne air drying systems.  It is primarily designed for non heated spray booths.  The system will raise the booth temperature by about 50F.

The addition of heat shortens flash-off times significantly.  Raising spray booth temperature during flash-off helps to minimize the negative effect of high humidity on drying times.

The blower takes air from the spray booth cabin. The heating element is installed in front of the blower.  We heat the air discharged from our blower and deliver it into the spray booth cabin through the waterborne paint drying system.  Since we are recirculating the cabin air, system operation is very efficient.

Cost of Operation

The standard heater is a 30Kw unit.  If the cost of 1Kwh electricity is $0.12 then the cost of heater operation for a cycle is only about $1.80-$2.10.  This is significantly less than the cost of a refinishing cycle in a booth that uses a gas fired heater.
